Conte de la neige
Le jeune Octavio, né à Québec de parents immigrants au début des années 1960, passe des moments difficiles à l’école. Le sentiment d’exclusion et même parfois la discrimination semblent l’affecter.
Sa vie ne serait-elle pas plus simple s’il s’appelait Louis Gagnon ?
Pendant ce temps, le père d’Octavio, Joan, a le regard trop souvent tourné vers la Lune. Il est écrivain et passe ses journées à taper sur sa machine à écrire. Il ne semble pas voir ce que vit son fils. « À quoi ça sert d’écrire des histoires ? », se demande Octavio.
Heureusement, Octavio a une grand-mère, Neus, qui, tout en regardant tomber la neige et en évoquant le pays du Soleil qu’elle a quitté, l’aide à construire sa propre identité.
Conte de la neige est le second texte de la Trilogie d'une émigration.
