Here is an excerpt from the full teaching guide. A shorter version will also be made available to you upon purchase. All materials are in French.
Here is an overview of the teaching tools included with the purchase of the audio play:
Video Capsule – The Dramatic Text
A literary form written for the stage, the dramatic text is at the heart of the Théâtrophone experience. In this video capsule, Sam and Sacha explore the different elements of a dramatic text, introducing students to stage directions, dialogue, and the unique features of audio theatre.
Video Capsule – Stage Directing
Stage directing means guiding an artistic work and bringing all of its elements together into a harmonious performance, much like a conductor leading an orchestra. In this video capsule, Sam and Sacha introduce students to the work of directing and performance direction.
Video Capsule – Vocal Interpretation
A subtle blend of instinct and technique, vocal performance is what brings characters to life in an audio play. In this video capsule, Sam and Sacha explore vocal expression, highlighting the most important elements of the creative process.
Video Capsule – Sound Design
In theatre, sound design encompasses music, sound, and atmosphere, while also playing an important dramatic role in the interpretation of a work. In this video capsule, Sam and Sacha present the different stages involved in creating a soundscape.

Language
Accessible language, at times poetic, including vocabulary elements from the Wolastoqey language.
Sensitive Content
Delphine has lost her grandfather and experiences her grief through a search for what he has passed on to her. Episode 2, in which she encounters the Kiwahq, may be frightening for younger children. It is recommended to approach the work with particular sensitivity to an Indigenous perspective, allowing students to engage with the story while moving beyond clichés and stereotypes associated with First Nations cultures.
